DIY paper star by name

I tried this a few years ago and came to think of it the other day. Fun and easy, and surprising every time! Here we go!

Fold your paper. I made a dull fold, I only got four points to my star. Jessica at the How About Orange blog (a great, great blog!) has instructions on a five pointed star (see the link to template in her text), and if you follow this instruction you'll get six pointed stars!

Write the name you wixh to cut out onto one side of the folded paper.

Cut away the space between the letters or inside the letters (a bit tricky, but you'll find ways to do it!).

Open up the star and be mezmerized on the pattern a name can make!

Oh, the things you can make by cutting paper! In December 2009 I made this creation. I called it Squirrels in the Forest.

Happy crafting with scissors!

download a typographic calender for 2013

Many have been waiting and asking for it (and that makes med so happy, thank you!), and finally here it is! At least the first four months. I know you do not have use for January that much any more, but it is still in there! The rest of the year will be uploaded soon!

It is in Swedish only, but feel free to download, print at home and get free lessons in the language during the whole year! :)

So download and share: Kalender 2013

Do leave me a note if you download the calendar and take it on use! I'd love to hear!

All the best for the weekend!

cut, fold and glue

So this is how my paper diamonds (by Weekday Carnival) and origami balls (by design and form) turned out. I recycled most of the paper. I especially love Gudrun Sjöden's catalogues for crafting; steady paper with a matt finish. And lovely colours and motifs!

And here are the robots (by Weekday Carnival) we crafted with the kids:

Have you tried any of the tutorials?

X-MAS DIY inspiration: paper creations

More paper DIY's to the people! I absolutely adore the creativeness when it comes to paper creations. Here are some of my favourites: I will later show you how my attempts to these crafts turned out.

Emma of Design and Form has got A LOT of gorgeous paper DIY's on her blog! I especially love:
PAPER STAR (I found the link via Elsass, a beautiful blog!)
DIY CHRISTMAS STAR

On Weekday Carnival you will also find templates and tutorials to these two beauties:
DIY GEOBALL
DIY CARDBOARD ROBOT FOR KIDS

I know it is a bit late, but I found these free printable paper advent calenders that I just have to share:

(Be sure to check out the Minieco blog, it is packed with wonderful and creative tutorials.)

 Happy crafting!

to do - printable lists

I had to make a TO DO list for myself. I made it accessable for you too, if you need one.

It is easy to just tape it to your wall (darn, I forgot all my washi tape in Finland!), or up on the fridge. Write an X or draw a happy face in the circle when you've done what you were aiming to do!

(one paper gives two lists)

Here is the downloadable and print friendly TO DO template.

I'd be happy to know if you made use of it! And please link to me if you share the template!

All the best!

Sofie

an oldie, but a goldie

I made this doll many years ago, but while cleaning out my craft room I found it. I gave it to wee M and she thought it was a nice toy. I really like it too.

Free pattern from Hillary Lang of Wee Wonderfuls. She has got several nice sewing patterns, be sure to check them out!

I put dried beans in the bottom of the doll so she can stand up tall. She is mad
