An addition to the kid's corner; a mini mattress covered with a, long ago, thrifted retro fabric. I had an idea of how I wanted the cover sewn, but it was not as easy to realize as I had imagined, especially since the mattress is about 15 cm thick. I got some help from my husband who held the mattress in a 45° angle so I could sew the fabric as close to one edge of the mattress as possible, (the crooked seam pictured above!). I will put a metal hoop on the "flat part" of the cover, so I can hang the mattress on the wall if necessary.
(I was sewing the cover in the middle of the night so my pictures are a bit dark.)
