the first thing
The first thing I made in the oven after our "kitchen opening" was meringue. I had had to make two batches of aioli earlier during the day. I failed with the first batch, so after the second batch I had four egg whites left. So late in the evening I made a baking tin of small white mountains. I got a sugar overdose that night, but oh, how good they were!
