You might already know about this, but I discovered it last Sunday; how to melt chocolate without messing several bowls or troubling with boiling water and steam or burning chocolate in the microwave.
Just put your chocolate pieces in a plastic bag, one that is hot water safe, put boiling hot water in a cup and sink the bag of chocolates into the cup. Keep for a few minutes. Cut a hole in one corner of the bag and ta-daa! A disposable spritz-bag!
Not so eco-friendly but very in handy when you have only 5 minutes to finish a going away present!
I was using my wonderful Christmas present for the firts time decorating the lid of the jar; the zigzag-scissors my husband gave me! Before Christmas I unsuccessfully searched the whole town for one. I was ecstatic when I opened my present!
Of course I have a stash of my own:)
One of my sorrows before Christmas was not having the time to make sweets. It has been a nice tradition these past years to devote one or two days for cooking, stiring and rolling. But last year we travelled so much before Christmas that I did not find the time to carry on the tradition. But I have not given up the idea, yet, to make sweets. I have all the ingredients and some very good recipies, so I might take out my saucepan today and start cooking some toffee.
What was your favourite candy this past Christmas?
