great shoe day
Monday was a great thrifting day. I went out to find wee M a rain coat and came home with (typically) a whole lot more! But these things were actually needed.
I am in need of new winter shoes (here in Finland they need to sustain snow, water, plus degrees and -25°C!). Since I used my recent pair of shoes for 5 winters (go El Naturalista!), they litterally ripped at the seams.
I want to buy shoes that keep for several years and even if they are more expensive it is definatley worth it. But with my current personal economy I wasn't too sure I would be able to buy good winter footwear.
But then came Monday and this is what I found:
ice skates! These were actually a bonus find, haven't been skating in years, but haven't owned any skates eighter for years. This might be the restart of something good! They were on -50% sale (at the flea market, dont you just love that!), so I got them for 2 eurodollars.
And now on to the shoes. Firstly grey leather lace up boots with lining, so they are warm. The second pair is brown and military style leather boots. A little too big for my feet, but I will fill the shoes up with rush soles and put socks on my feet. Oh, how lovely to wear knee high wool socks with these boots!
I am very happy for the shoes. I gave 14 euros for the two pairs and I do believe they will survive a few winters. Need to treat them well! Ika, if you are reading this; what was the name of the shoe care you mentioned, the one you bought at the pharmacy?
Finally some socks for E and M. And, oh yes, I found wee M a rain coat!
How's your week started?
