World Wide Knit in Public Day, Saturday June 14th

If you want to participate in an event in your hometown (or if there isn't one you can organize one yourself; bring your friends out on a picnic in the park and make sure everyone brings yarn and needles) and you do not have a project to knit, here is some inspiration and free patterns:

Beautiful mittens, but also caps and cuffs.

Garnstudio
Has got thousands of free patterns!

Knitty
Already wrote about this one, but it's worth mentioning again! Summer 2008 issue is out now!

Flint Knits
New found inspiration for me. This cardigan is an grown-up model of an Zimmermann baby cardi. Lovely pattern!

Sticka!
I've knitted two of the free patterns, the Dimma scarf and Sockor med falska flätor pictured above (they were fast and fun to knit!)

Barbros Stickning
Barbro has a lot of great patterns and they are written in both Swedish and English!

CocoKnits
have a nice free pattern for a mittenscarf. Might be a nice thing to start knitting on a Saturday like the coming one, and to wear in Finnish June summer nights (suddenly it is just freezing though the day was warm...)...
... or maybe a knitted tie from Classic Elite Yarns Inc. More free patterns in their Web-Letter archive. I especially like the Breast Cancer Awareness Scarf!

I'll be at my parents house in Kronoby this Saturday and the nearest Knit In Public is in Kokkola. I would have wanted to go to Loftet or Brahegården here in Vasa, but I prefer E meets his grandparents.

All the best to you for the weekend!
